Paola Marquez, a Colombian singer based in Belgium, honed her craft studying Jazz at the Ghent Conservatory. Since 2009, she has embarked on a musical journey exploring various styles and musical roots that inspired her to pursue this path. Throughout her career, she has maintained a strong connection with Jazz, a genre that initially drew her from across the world.
Paola’s versatility as a singer is undeniable. Her vocal range is both expansive and flawless, captivating audiences with her warm tone and interpretations that transcend language barriers.
Whether she’s singing a cumbia, immersing herself in the melodies of jazz and bossa nova, or delving into the passion of tonadas llaneras, tango, zamba, and chacarera, Paola’s performances are always distinctive and evocative.
She has collaborated on record productions with various groups such as Maguare, Palenque matongue, and Proyecto secreto, all under the esteemed record label Zephyrus Records.
Currently, Paola is reigniting her passion for jazz, collaborating with local artists like Anima amici, The mothership acoustic trio, and the renowned American jazz guitarist, Roni Ben Hur. Together, they are working on a new album that aims to firmly establish her presence in the jazz scene.
